  • To spin a yarn is to tell a story.

When a caterpillar spins a cocoon around itself, it weaves a tale of death, metamorphosis and rebirth.

Human beings have spun stories and fibres through generations. Each textile is a text from which a narrative unravels like an archetypal fairy tale. Although they appear solid, memory and meaning, like cocoons, are in a state of flux.

Suspended Animations embraces this idea by reimagining everyday manmade or natural objects and exploring how to transform and thereby reanimate them.
